5-Stages of Listening

When we look at presenters or public speakers do their thing on stage, it looks very easy and carefree. But the truth of the matter is, being able to communicate one’s message or messages across a huge number of people is not that simple. Conveying a series of messages and making sure that your audience doesn’t lose interest involves complex skills and processes, one of which is LISTENING.

Let us breakdown the listening process into five simpler stages so we can better understand what is involved in each step. The five stages are:

  2. Understanding
  3. Remembering
  4. Evaluating
  5. Responding
