What's In This Guide

Welcome to the F.M. Kirby Center! We created this guide in order to help you better navigate your new working environment and surrounding areas, find resources to help you live well, and connect with folks outside of your lab. Inside there is a wealth of information related to transportation, housing, family and childcare, and wellness (financial, physical, and mental) to help make your transition to the Kirby Center as seamless as possible. On a social and cultural level, you will discover information about our recently launched "Buddy Program," an initiative which pairs you with a more senior colleague in your area, details about recurring events (Lab Results talks, Seminar Series, EDI Workshops, and Happy Hours), and ways to connect with BCH affinity groups. There are also lists of dining and cafe options in the Longwood, Huntington Ave, and Fenway areas. Finally, we've provided links to Hospital-wide resources so that you are aware of the policies in place to protect you as a worker. At the Kirby Center, we strive to foster a community where everyone belongs, feels welcomed, and knows they are supported. Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. We are excited to get to know you!

DID YOU KNOW? Does the walk up the staircase from CLS 12 to13 feel a little too long to you?  That's because there are two secret mechanical floors between them! So, if you decide to take the stairs, be prepared for a longer climb than usual!
