Tuition & Student Loan Assistance

BCH offers both tuition and student loan assistance to help eligible employees further their professional development through education and help defray the financial costs accrued from obtaining an academic degree.  Eligible employees can participate in both programs!


BCH offers both tuition and student loan assistance to help eligible employees further their professional development through education and help defray the financial costs accrued from obtaining an academic degree.  Eligible employees can participate in both programs!

Tuition Assistance: The hospital will reimburse covered employees, with the exception of Fellows, Joint Appointees and House Staff, regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week up to $5,250 per Benefit Plan Year and $2,625 per Benefit Plan Year for covered employees, with the exception of Fellows, Joint Appointees and House Staff, regularly scheduled to work between 20 and 29.99 hours per week on a pre-tax basis for eligible tuition expenses. You are eligible after your 90-day waiting period and you must obtain a grade of C or better in a graded course from an institution holding regional or national accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. 

Student Loan Assistance: Covered employees regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may receive a subsidy of up to $200 per month ($2,400/annual max); Covered employees regularly scheduled to work between 20 and 29.99 hours per week may receive a subsidy of up to $100 per month ($1,200/annual max). The Hospital will pay the subsidy only on U.S. based qualifying loans which are currently being paid by the employee and are for a degree that has already been received by the employee. The employee must continue making regular loan payments in an amount equal to what they were making in payment prior to receiving the subsidy. 


How to Apply: Applications for tuition assistance & student loan assistance can be submitted online through EdAssist. The web address is https://bch.edassist.com. When logging in for the first time, an employee will need both the Employer Username (“BostonChildrens”) and the Employer Password (“Benefits4You”) then proceed to “Student Loan Support” page.
