Psammophilus dorsalis (Peninsular Rock Agama, Family Agamidae) is a sexually dimorphic lizard which inhabits the semi-arid, exposed and rocky habitats in the hilly areas of southern India. Together with Dr. Kavita Isvaran, we established the foundations of using this novel and understudied system for studying various aspects of the behavioural ecology of P. dorsalis in the wild. We have a fully functional field-site at Rishi Valley (Andhra Pradesh) where we carry out long-term monitoring of wild populations of lizards.
