Hyena Overview
Hyenas in Kijabi typically have African-inspired names rather than pet-like ones such as "Duke" or "Luna." This cultural preference reflects their connection to the African savanna and emphasizes their roots within the region. The adorn both a frist and last name.
Lion Overview
They still typically have African-inspired names. However, lions do not share hyena last name naming conventions at all and have a single solitary label. Lions adorn a single name.
(ex: Boon, Dakarai, Azibo)

In Kijabi clan hyenas adopt titles much like humans. They inherit the last name from their mother. And treated like a valuable title. Last names hold significant importance within the clans, as they serve as a link to ones heritage and familial lineage. A character's family member may achieve something great and their last name may become synonymous with their accomplishments. They can also become associated with negative acts or events.
Hyenas born outside of Kijabi and other species, do not have last names. However, they may and can be earned and given by a clan lead.
Earning a Last Name
Obtaining a last name is achieved through demonstrating one's worth within the clan of residence and earning the recognition of the leader they follow. For many individuals who join as loners, this becomes a huge goal.
Losing a Last Name
Losing a last name among the Kijabi can be considered a punishment and brings great shame upon the character. Leaders may have various justifications for such actions.
