In our roleplay, we aim for semi-realistic character designs as we want to encourage creative freedom as much as we can without creating a power imbalance.
Please adhere to the specified weight and height ranges when making your characters unless you've claimed a smaller or larger limited trait.
Size Guide Hyenas
Adult hyenas typically weigh between 89-190lbs.
Adults have a shoulder height ranging from 70–91 cm (28–36 in).
Zuvan hyenas may go over the weight limit up to 205 lbs.
Kusitawa hyenas may go over the height limit to 100 cm.
Size Guide Lions
Adult lions typically weigh between 330–550lbs
Adult lions have a shoulder height ranging from 110-140cm.
Lions holding a abnormally tall trait may go up to 160cm
Lions holding an abnormally small trait may not go under 80cm
Lions holding an abnormally heavy trait may not go above 565lbs
Pelt Colors & Markings
No abnormal markings like stars or hearts are permitted, and overly neon or sparkly designs, such as sparkle dogs, are not allowed. However, more subdued unnatural colors like toned-down blues, reds, pinks, or oranges are acceptable. Accents on unnatural colors are also permitted.
You're allowed to incorporate pelt mutations into your characters, even if they're not realistically present in hyenas or lions.
Spotted hyenas must not have stripes; however, patches are permitted. All pelts must include some form of spots; blank pelts are prohibited.
Lions with full body spots + markings that are unique to big cats (cheetah, leopard, tiger, etc.) are prohibited. As long as they are not full body they are okay to use.
Hair & Manes
Hyenas and lions have manes, and their portrayal in media often showcases creative interpretations. Here, embrace the opportunity to experiment with diverse hairstyles for your hyena character. Whether adorned with long flowing locks, a bold mohawk, or sporting no mane at all, feel free to embellish them with beads and flowers.
Appendages
Your character cannot possess horns, spikes, or wings; they must adhere to the typical anatomy of a hyena or lion. However, alternatives like "fake" horns or bones along the spine from another animal are permissible.
Everyone is more than welcome to utilize these linearts to facilitate character creation, streamline the process, and spark inspiration!

By including a range of traits, you provide a more comprehensive understanding of your character. These are a must, for your written applications:
2 positive traits:
Positive traits are qualities that are generally beneficial and contribute positively to a character. They often enhance relationships, productivity, and overall well-being.
2 neutral traits:
Neutral traits are characteristics that may not inherently be positive or negative but depend on context or individual interpretation. They can vary in their impact depending on how they are expressed or utilized.
2 negative traits:
Negative traits are characteristics that can have detrimental effects on a character, relationships, or well-being. They often hinder personal growth and can lead to conflict or unhappiness.
History
History is your characters backstory. It's important for us to have some kind of character history to be able to assure that the character can interact with other characters and vice versa, for players' sakes. It's fine if it's something basic to start out with, it can be developed more later on.
If your having trouble coming up with something here are some questions to ask yourself:
Were there any significant events or dynamics within the family that shaped the character's upbringing?
What were the character's interests, hobbies, or passions growing up?
What were the character's parents like?
In what ways did the character's parents/clans influence their upbringing, values, and beliefs?
What do they think about their clan?
What were some of the biggest challenges or hardships the character faced?
Are there any regrets or mistakes from the character's past that still weigh heavily on them?
Remember
Your characters don't need to perfectly align with the clans/groups/pride in terms of physique, personality, beliefs, etc. We welcome diversity and encourage friction in characters relations with the clans, as it adds depth and intrigue to the roleplay.
