PROJECT 1A
The goal of this project is to evaluate the character, identity, and uniqueness of a town and urban region in order to identify opportunities for producing responsive architecture design within an urban context and place-making-led urban space at the given site. Consequently, the project introduces students to the fundamentals of urban design by assessing the "content" of the urban context within the proposed site. This preliminary task examines the character of a place (town or city) and architecture for place-making through the "Townscape Assessment".
In this project, i am able to understand the urban theories and context that surrounds the rich cultural site Brickfields. It has open a new path of knowledge in my life to see the urban landscape differently. I am able to understand deeper on how a town planning and design should be.
PROJECT 1B
We are task to find their positions to develop the Community Centre for the community. The students are to individually interpret the idea of Community community center for the community in Brickfields and come up with an architectural design strategy for the same. This will be in-reflection to the issues and inspirations they found in Project 1a in order to offer to character, continuity and enclose, quality of public realm, ease of movement, legibility, adaptability, and diversity in the city.
PROJECT 1C
To develop a community center based on the site and urban understanding of the place. You will concentrate on designing a Community Centre for the community in Brickfileds. The design of the building consists of appropriate architectural responses that address the aspects of the urban street context and user behavioral patterns as discerned and analyzed in the Preliminary Studies.
It has given me the opportunity to see a place more empathetically through the people, culture and context of an urban setting. I am able to respond to the needs of proposing a community center, which are needed by the locals and the underprivileged. I am grateful for this opportunity on learning something different and more engaging towards a site.
