Illegal hunting and wire for snares are threats to chimpanzees and monkeys. Trackers are looking around everyday to find hunters and to prevent poaching. Snare removers also pick wires of snares up in the forest. However, Individuals injured by steel wire are still found almost every year.

Lecture 

Environmental Education

Environmental education programs are offered to local people at the education center in the nearest village. Open school for primary school children every Sunday and special lectures for village people are held every month.

Kalinzu Forest Project (KFP)  conducts conservation activities in Kalinzu Forest.
