Grading Policy

Grades 7–12

• Each quarter is worth 100 points total.
  
  

• The semester grade is the average of the two quarter grades.
  
  

• Projects, participation, and following studio procedures are factored into the quarter total.
  
  

• Late work may be accepted with a deduction at the teacher’s discretion.
  
  

Grades K–6

• Students will receive either:
  
  

  • Satisfactory (S) — meets grade-level expectations
    
    

  • Not Satisfactory (NS) — needs improvement in meeting grade-level expectations
    
    

• Evaluation is based on effort, participation, and following directions rather than technical skill alone.
