In May 2022, I graduated from Casper College with an Associate of Fine Arts in Art Education. From there, I attended the University of Wyoming, WY, where I was pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education. After a year I found myself wanting to be closer to home and transferred to Chadron State College where I achieved my Bachelor of Science in Education with an endorsement in Art PK-12. I graduated in May of 2025.
As I have completed my degree, I have interned at the Nicolaysen Art Museum, teaching homeschool children different art lessons. It was a great experience to step in and learn how teach in a non-traditional classroom setting. During my time at the Nicolaysen, I was teaching K-5 students. Even though I want to teach at the high school level, I learned something new and apply those lessons to my everyday life and when I become a teacher. I have a passion for creating art, knowledge, and growth, and I can't wait to begin my career as an educator. I want to inspire students that art isn't all about drawing and painting. There are millions of different art mediums a person can use and I want to show them that if they may not be good at one medium, they can try the next one unitl they find something they enjoy and they are good at. I want to help them develop into creative and kind people, as well as give them the tools and resources they need to become successful artists in any kind of medium. I hope to serve as a positive role model for my students, and I want each and every one of the students to come back into my classroom feel comfortable coming back to see me several years later and telling me about the world of art and how they excelled in it. My dream is to teach 7-12 grade students!
