Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program gives eligible Arizona families the opportunity to use education funds for a variety of approved educational expenses. For families who choose a more individualized educational path, ESA funding can make opportunities such as tutoring, teaching services, educational programs, and other eligible learning experiences more accessible.
Kaleidoscope Learning Collective welcomes ESA families, and we are registered with ClassWallet as an educational service provider. Families using ESA funds can receive the invoices and supporting documentation needed to submit eligible Kaleidoscope services for payment through their ESA account.
We also know that navigating ESA can feel a little overwhelming, particularly if you are new to the program. While we cannot determine whether a particular expense will be approved by the Arizona Department of Education, we are happy to help families understand the documentation we provide and where to find the current information they need.
If your learner is enrolled in Arizona's ESA program and you would like to use ESA funds for an eligible Kaleidoscope service, we will provide you with an itemized invoice containing the information needed for your submission.
Families can then submit the invoice through their ClassWallet account using the appropriate payment option. For registered educational service providers, ClassWallet's Pay Vendor system allows families to select the provider, upload the required invoice or supporting documentation, and submit the transaction for review.
Once a transaction is submitted, it is reviewed according to current ESA requirements before funds are released. Because approval and processing are handled through the ESA program and ClassWallet, families should allow adequate processing time when planning tuition or other payments.
If you are considering homeschooling or are new to Arizona's ESA program, the Arizona Department of Education should be your first stop. Their ESA website includes current eligibility requirements, application information, the Parent Handbook, ClassWallet resources, and guidance for families using ESA funds.
Because ESA policies and allowable expenses can change, we encourage families to use the current Arizona Department of Education guidance when making decisions about their ESA accounts.
If your learner participates in Arizona’s ESA program and you would like to use ESA funds for an eligible Kaleidoscope service, we will provide an itemized invoice with the information needed for your submission.
Families can then submit the invoice through their ClassWallet account using the appropriate payment option. Because Kaleidoscope is registered with ClassWallet as an educational service provider, families can locate us through the ClassWallet system and submit the required invoice and documentation for review.
Once submitted, the transaction moves through the ESA review and payment process. Because approval and processing are handled through the ESA program and ClassWallet, we encourage families using ESA funds to submit payments early enough to allow for processing before tuition or other payments are due.
If you are new to ESA or ClassWallet and aren't quite sure where to begin, please don't hesitate to ask. While we cannot make eligibility or approval decisions on behalf of the Arizona Department of Education, we are happy to help you understand the documentation Kaleidoscope provides and point you toward the appropriate ESA resources.
If you are just beginning to explore Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account program, you are definitely not alone if it feels like there is a lot to figure out at first. Between eligibility, applications, ClassWallet, allowable expenses, invoices, and documentation requirements, there can be quite a learning curve when you are first getting started.
The Arizona Department of Education’s ESA website is the best place to find current information about eligibility, applications, the ESA Parent Handbook, ClassWallet, allowable expenses, and program requirements. Because ESA policies and requirements can change, we always encourage families to use ADE’s current guidance when making decisions about their ESA funds.
Kaleidoscope is happy to provide the documentation needed for the services we offer and to help point families toward the appropriate resources when questions come up. We may not be able to answer every ESA question, but we certainly don't want families to feel like they have to figure everything out completely on their own.
