Incentives for Sterilization: In the past, India introduced policies that provided incentives to individuals who opted for sterilization to control population growth.

Effectiveness: 

These policies have had mixed success. While they have contributed to a decline in birth rates over the years, challenges such as limited access to family planning services in rural areas and cultural factors have sometimes hindered their effectiveness.
