Business Card - Adjustment Layers
This week I wanted to try and make a business card. So I took a logo I had made a while back and created a poster and a business card for a random company I made up named Rythmal.
I used the selection and pen tools on the business card to cut out the shapes.
I used color fill and layer blending on each shape to help give extra flair.
I also used a couple brightness adjustments to get the correct color on the overlaid background. I also used curves, exposure, and hue/saturation for the poster.
Contrast: I used 2 different fonts to contrast one another. I used the dark purple to help bold the soft yellow.
Repetition: I used the same type of logo (for the phone, mail, and location) to give repetition. I also kept the same color scheme for both designs.
Alignment: I aligned the text to the right on the business card (except for the name of the company since that looked better centered). I also aligned the text to the left on the poster to allow the lines to move your eye from the bottom to the top right of the page.
Proximity: I placed the information next to each symbol it points to. I placed the title close to the company logo. I also put a line seperating the information from the person's name.
Color choice: I used complimentary colors of deep violet and tinted yellow. I feel like they go well together and contrast nicely.
The buisness card has a good balance on each side.
The fonts are Made Goodtime Grotesk and Imprint MT Shadow.
