Business Poster - Selection Tool
Images used for selection
There is a running joke in my family where one of the kids should be a realtor and make their business GreatHomes. I decided to make a little business poster showcasing a "room" that was designed by the company. I also really wanted to see how powerful the selection tool was.
I used the selection tool to snip the objects out of each image. I also cut the backdrop in half and mirrored it to cut out the plant.
I used the brush tool to shade shadows under each item to help them blend into the scene.
I used the Rectangular Marquee Tool to make squares for the background art. I then clipped the ocean image into the boxes. I also used the Circle Marquee Tool to create circles streaming across the top and bottom.
Contrast: I used darks on a white wall to help contrast the colors. I also used borders on the squares, logo, and words to help make things pop.
Repetition: I used repetitive colors and squares to help bring the image together. I chose relatively similar items to give a professional look.
Alignment: I aligned the image around the background art and created a mostly symmetrical design.
Proximity: I placed the couches and lamp near the floor and the art close to the wall. I also placed the home and name next to the ocean art to bring a focal point to the image.
Color choice: I chose the blue from the ocean to color the floor and then a nice white and black to compliment the monochrome color scheme.
The photo is asymmetrical.
