Youtube Banner - Layers and Blending
I've been needing a Youtube banner for my Music Production Youtube Channel, and so I decided to blend a bunch of layers to create my design. The logo is also my own design, I don't really know what it represents, so I guess that is up to your imagination. I also play games on the side, so I featured those on the right of the banner.
I used screenshots taken from inside my games and inside my music production software to place in the background of the image. Each image is placed and then linked to the colored box. I used an overlay blend mode and lowered the opacity on each image as well.
I used a white angled box shape to break up the two sides of the image and off centered it so that the name would fit the minimum size requirements.
I used layer style on the logo to shade, bevel, and glow.
Contrast: I've used bright white on a darker blue to contrast the image and make it readable.
Repetition: I repeated the distancing on each social media tag while also changing each tag to a solid white to make it more uniform. I made sure to pick logos that complimented one another.
Alignment: The logos act as a justified alignment to the edges of my producer tag. I aligned the logo and the tag in the center of the banner.
Proximity: The social media tags aren't placed in weird spots on the banner and are all close to one another. They are also close to the title to show that those social media accounts are under the name "Vipperstorm".
Color choice: I chose a deep blue contrasted with white. I also used oranges and yellows from the game photos to help give the banner a split complimentary color scheme.
Font Choice: I chose a blocky and heavy weighted text for the title and shrunk the social media words.
The font is Made Goodtime Grotesk
The images are screenshots from my own games and music software
The Logo is my own design
