John 14:28-31
Jesus Will Return Back to God
28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
Matthew 11:28-30
God is Humble and Gentle in Heart
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
When I first read this and Jesus said, "I AM going away and I AM coming back to you.’...If you loved Me, you would be glad that I AM going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I...I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe...I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming...He has no hold over Me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I LOVE the Father and do exactly what My Father has commanded Me."...
I, especially did not understand why He had to leave and that when leaving His Disciples they should be glad...Because He was leaving earth, I thought it better that He stayed, and stayed much longer with us and for us...We certainly need Him to stay and to guide us on earth...But we know He chose the right time to go back to His Father...His timing is always the right time...
But God is greater than anyone...And Jesus says that God is greater than Him...And when we think about this, to be with God is where we want to be...To be with our Father is where we want to be...To be with the One who created us, is where we want to be...We can rest when we are with Him...For God is gentle and humble in heart, and we will find rest for our souls with Him...
