Jesus Brings Peace
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Troubles Will Come
33 “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus makes it very clear to His disciples and us that while we live on earth we will have troubles...He is telling this to His disciples the night of His arrest...The disciples have been with Him for three years now, and have learned much from Him...Even though that they are His disciples, and His hand chosen disciples and leaders to carry on His teachings and His gospel, He still tells them that in this world they will have trouble...
But even though we will have troubles, Jesus is our hope...He teaches us that even though we will have pains, grief, and suffering in this world, we have hope...This is because, He is not alone, because the Father is with Jesus...Jesus tells us that after He dies, He would be going to the Father...He would be leaving this world, the earth, and be going back to the Father...And when He left, the disciples would have grief, but He would resurrect and then they would see Him again, and they would rejoice...And when they feel this joy of His resurrection, and see He is still alive, no one will be able to take away this joy from the disciples...
We can take heart, because Jesus overcame this earthly world...He lives in heaven...He teaches His disciples and us these things, so that we may have peace...The type of peace He brings is not like this world and not of this world, but is an eternal peace of our soul...
