John 14:27
Jesus Offers His Peace and Brings Us a Different Kind of Peace
27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
I have anxiety and at times the anxiety comes so quickly and out of the blue and has so often over the years I wonder if I can handle another round of it...My mood drops vey quickly and I feel depressed, in despair, isolated, and frustrated for hours and sometimes days...My thoughts cling and linger, so even after the anxiety event has passed, my mind holds on to those old thoughts and I have to relive the old menacing thoughts...I have prayed many times asking my Father to take away these troubles from me, but they continue...And the clinging, negative thoughts want to hang around for days, sometimes longer...I look for peace and cannot find it around me...Maybe there is a peace in Another World...
Minister Dr. Charles Stanley says: “We’d all like to have great faith that stands firm in the face of challenges and difficulties...But God doesn’t enlarge our faith instantly; it’s a slow process that happens over our lifetime and often involves trials...Each time we choose to believe the LORD and step out in obedience, we gain greater confidence to trust Him the next time...There will be opportunities for you to believe in the LORD and respond with obedience...These situations are what we often call ‘problems.’...Try looking at each difficulty as an opportunity designed by God specifically for the purpose of increasing your faith as you see His dependability in action...With each step of obedience, your trust in Him will strengthen.”...
