Job 1:6-12
God Allows Pain and Suffering
6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
Job 42:10-11
God Allows Pain and Suffering
10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. 11 All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver[a] and a gold ring.
Romans 8:28
God Works to Find Good in All Things for the Good of Those Who Love Him
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
I wonder if Adam and Eve had any small or strong pains, before that ate the forbidden fruit?...In Eden and Paradise, I cannot picture pain and suffering...
We know God allows pain, when we read the Book of Job...We learn that God does allow pain as He talks to the evil one and lets him into Job's life...The Bible says God gave Job all the troubles that he had had...When I read the verses in the last chapter of the Book of Job, that verse is interesting to me...After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored Job's fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before...All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house...His friends comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the LORD had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring...
Years ago my very young sister had appendicitis and was very sick...This illness and her great pain took her and Mom and Dad to the doctor twice...The first visit was not enough, thinking it was a stomach issue that she was having...But the second visit she was much sicker, and in great pain and this pain got the doctor to reexamine what they were originally thinking and that there was a greater sickness than just stomach issues...She was rushed to the hospital after her second visit and had a very inflamed appendix removed quickly...And after a few weeks she was feeling much better...Her inflamed appendix caused much pain...
Is there any goodness in our pain?...Now I look back and wonder if that very bad pain in my sister came from God to help save her...So the question comes up, "Could a Good God give us our pains and sufferings?."...St. Paul believes it does...He suffered a lot just to preach the Gospel of Jesus...So Paul knew a lot about suffering and pain...St. Paul says that "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."...In all the times that Paul got forty lashes for preaching about Jesus he found good in his pain...Paul believed that God knows the Greater Good...In all the pain that Job, my sister, and Paul went through God was there...God gave Paul the strength to carry on with his ministry...God has a Master Plan, but sometimes it comes with a painful prescription...
