Job 19:25-27
My Redeemer Lives
25 I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been destroyed,
yet in my flesh I will see God;
27 I myself will see him
with my own eyes—I, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!
Job is a very old book...It was written when the Sabeans and Chaldeans were enemies of Job (chapter 1:15-17)...Job's wealth is measured by the size of his herd...Job lived in the land of Uz...The location of Uz is not pinpointed or known, but Uz is mentioned in Genesis 36:28 in the discussion of Jacob's twin brother Esau's descendants...So it maybe in Edom...
Despite of these earliest of times (before Jesus), Job knows that his Redeemer lives...He even knows that after his skin is destroyed, he (Job) will see God...Job believes in the resurrection...Somehow Job knows that he will see God with his own eyes...His heart yearns to see God, even after he has died...Salvation is found in no one else but our Redeemer...
