  • Recognize one's quality world in connection with its values, beliefs, learning and knowledge,
  • Establish a connection between one's basic needs and the images of its quality world.

Reflection 1

Discuss how learning about perception in this course has impacted your understanding of the choices you have made and in regards to how you view the world. Evaluate and describe your QWP, how you developed them, and how they relate to the strength of your needs.

My QWP is strongly connected to the Love and Belonging need. As mentioned in the video, people migrate to those who share a common perception and goal. We unwittingly look for matches which are interrelated to others.

My family and friends all share a common QWP and whanau features at the centre.

  1. the people we most want to be with - family, extended family and friends
  2. the things we most want to own or experience - happy home and happy life, successful careers, happy relationships - successful children
  3. the ideas or systems of beliefs that govern much of our behaviour - good values, connecting habits, generousity, hard work, appreciation

My needs are satisfied through 'Love and Belonging' which includes seeing the ones I love experience fun, freedom, survival and power. In turn these can be easily influenced by the people we hold in our QW - allowing us the flexibility to create, recreate, remove or replace QWP.

Reflection 2

Describe any QWP that you have changed in your life, what experiences or learnings impacted your decision to change. Evaluate the effectiveness of your new or old QWP’s in regards to how you satisfy your needs.

Reflection 3

Discuss your opinion as to whether QWP have different levels of importance.

QWP is in the eye of the beholder. Therefore if perception is individual and unique to everyone, QWP will have different levels of importance to us all.

A young man with a high ambition and strong power need may measure his success on material items and his QWP will place a higher level of importance on fast cars, personal physique and the accompaniment of beautiful women.

A mother with a high love and belonging need QWP will view people and nurture as more important than possessions.

A homeless man will have a QWP where his survival needs are met through placing more importance on shelter, food and warmth.

Our QWP are influenced by our environment, our needs and our wants, and will usually be prioritised accordingly.

Reflection 4

If I had one QWP that I could update to better manage my present experience in life, what would that new picture be.
