Whenever we are out in the country, Ash takes a big inhale and exhales with a, “I love that smell.”
His sensory system takes him back to his childhood experiences, growing up on a farm with the memories he has of his parents, and the fun and freedom he enjoyed as a child. His value filter is one of nostalgia and happiness which is his current perceived world.
Whenever I am out in the country, I hold my breath and stay in the car.
My sensory system takes me back to my childhood experience of puffy eyes, itchy skin and severe allergies. My value filter is one of negativity and physical distress which is my current perceived world.
We both have an understanding of our perceived worlds and accept that we see the world differently.
