Pancake Day Composition

Choose four phrases from the choice below (or make up your own if you prefer)

Write down your four phrases and SAY THE WORDS AND CLAP THE RHYTHM from start to finish with no gaps

Once confident, add notes to the rhythm. Start on C and finish C

Once you have a selection of notes you like, write them down underneath your phrase. You can use manuscript paper if you like, or write it using letters or any method you choose – the only rule is you must be able to read it yourself a few days later.

If you like, add some left hand by placing your little finger on low C and your thumb on G – place either your little finger or thumb as you play your melody – either should sound good
