How to use this resource: 

This resource includes songs organized by vocabulary topic for three different levels: novice, intermediate, and advanced. Music can be a really powerful way for students to learn new vocabulary. Through music students see the vocabulary in context, can listen to the song repeatedly, read the lyrics at the same time, and it is fun. One way this could be used in a classroom is to assign students a weekly song. On the first day of the week, students should be given a printed copy of the lyrics. The teacher then pre-teaches key vocabulary words that will be encountered. Next, the students listen to the song a number of times with different focuses. The song is then returned to each day of the week. On the final day, the students are given a copy of the song with the key vocabulary words and a few other words missing which they fill in.
