News in Levels

This website presents a number of short articles based on world news. I like that the articles are short which allow for practice with different strategies. These articles, are thus, best used for intensive reading. Each artical is accompanied by vocabulary words and a video. Not to mention that each article can be read at Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. This can be used in the classroom as well. For example, the teacher could have the students read the Level 1 text for global comprehension. Then they could read the Level 2 text to confirm global comprehension and look for details. Finally, the Level 3 text could be used to practice scanning.
