Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine - Georgia Campus
I was born in a small town in Kentucky. I went to Centre College for my undergraduate degree where I was a member of the golf team for 4 years. After college I attended the University of Kentucky where I got my masters degree and worked in a cardiac research lab. During my 4th year of medical school I rotated at Jefferson Northeast and was very impressed with the residents, especially how all of them got along so well even between different programs. The EM/FM dual program was very attractive to me growing up in a small town where my dad practices both family medicine and emergency medicine.
Golfing, Running, Traveling, Wine, I love comic books, Disney and Superman.
Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine
I was born the youngest of five children, and was raised in the southern NJ-Philadelphia area. My mother and father met in Mexico where my mother is from and my father attended medical school. I studied physics and astronomy in my undergraduate career at Rowan University although I had wanted to study medicine for a long time. After graduating university I was a research assistant at the University of Pennsylvania in the anesthesiology department, and also worked as a scribe for an emergency medicine department. I attended Rowan University SOM, with a growing interest in emergency medicine and family medicine. Fortunately, I found a program that would offer me the education in both specialties.
Reading, painting, cycling, going to art museums, stargazing, traveling when possible.
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine
I was born in Iowa and grew up mostly in Seattle, WA. I graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2009 with a bachelors in molecular and cellular biology and minor in religious studies. Immediately after graduation, I embarked on a two year adventure as a fellow with Princeton in Asia. Year one was spent teaching English in southern Thailand, and year two was spent in northern Thailand, developing health and education programs with a child rights nonprofit. After returning to the US in 2011, I spent three years working at a homeless shelter serving adult men and women in Boulder, Colorado. These years were formative in many regards, instilling a belief that access to health care, both mental and physical, is essential to helping underserved communities achieve stability, and inspiring my commitment to field of medicine.
Starting at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in 2014, I became active in family medicine leadership with the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and later served as student trustee to the board of the Washington Academy of Family Physicians.
My professional goals remain focused on providing a full scope of care to underserved communities, particularly in the area of addiction medicine, which led me to Jefferson Northeast’s combined FM/EM program.
Hiking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing, road biking, weight lifting, cooking, making ceramics.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
I am originally from Whitehall, PA but have been living in Philadelphia for just over 10 years as I went to Temple University for undergraduate, PCOM for med school, and stayed here at Jefferson NE for residency. In college I earned my degree in Chemistry with a teaching certification so could technically teach high school chemistry! I currently live in Manayunk with my husband, 8 month old baby girl named Estella, and our 3 cats - Kit, Esther, and Ellie. In my free time I enjoy doing CrossFit at our local gym, trail running on the Wissahickon, and preparing food for my family and friends. I am so grateful to be an EMFM resident at Jefferson NE. There are so many wonderful people, including my fellow residents and attendings, that I feel honored to learn from and work alongside. After graduation, I hope to stay within the Jefferson NE network practicing both family and emergency medicine.

As someone who liked aspects of all my med school rotations, family medicine was a natural choice. I am a huge fan of variety and independence, and my main interest is local and global medical outreach to the underserved--something FM, with its broad base of skills and knowledge, is well suited towards. In the future I'd like to take my clinic to the streets and seek out hard-to-reach populations, which I'm confident I will be able to do after training at Jeff NE. I'm so excited to get to know Philadelphia and all my co-residents along the way.
Hiking, camping, traveling, rock climbing, reading (will read anything), restoring antiques!

I chose JNE because of the people. The residents and attendings were so friendly and helpful, and they gave me the impression of family. I grew up in a small town with a close- knit family & community, and I was specifically looking for that quality in a residency program. Besides the wonderful people of JNE, this program is also unique for its three separate campuses. I don't know where I will practice when I am finished, but I am confident by training here, I will be prepared for any environment.
Ross University School of Medicine
I'm originally from Connecticut, moving to Florida during high school where I attended the University of South Florida. Between undergraduate and medical school, I worked for 2 years as a medical assistant and was a Peace Corps Health Volunteer in Madagascar for 3 years. This is where I solidified my interest in medicine and global health! During my interview at Jefferson Northeast I was immediately drawn to all the opportunities the EM/FM program had to offer. I enjoy the well-rounded nature of the program, being able to treat different patients in a variety of settings. I have participated in a global health trip to Peru and will hopefully get more involved as the years progress. I am also currently working on my Master of Public Health through Jefferson University to continue my interest of global health.
Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University
Originally from West Chester, PA, I've spent most of my life in and around Philly. Before medical school, I studied Biology at Penn State for undergrad. I then came back to Philadelphia and worked as a teaching aid in the Kensington neighborhood through an AmeriCorps program before pursuing an MPH through Jefferson. During that time I became drawn to underserved care and community health, and during medical school I saw how I could explore those interests with dual training in Emergency and Family Medicine.
Sports, checking out different cities, and trying out food wherever I go
