Program Details

Jefferson Health NE Family Medicine is a three-year community based residency with ACGME accreditation. Residents complete the ABFM (American Board of Family Medicine) in-service exam and have the option to complete the AOBFM (American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine) in-service exam. Residents can choose either or both board certification exams after the successful completion of the residency program.

The program is dedicated to helping residents explore their individual professional passions that reside within Family Medicine. We focus on building a strong foundation with more in-patient medicine in the first year, and focusing on outpatient training opportunities in the second and third years. Similarly, Family Medicine Practice (FMP) hours start at a half day per week in the first year, and gradually increase to at least three half day office sessions in the second and third years.

Below is an overview our three year curriculum, followed by a listing of various electives and possible focused career pathways that are available. We have also included major rotation sites and affiliated hospitals.
