Jane Austin is a multi-media artist who currently works with photography and video at her studios in Petrolia in Lambton County and on Windfall Lake on Manitoulin Island. Her themes are based on still life, landscape, and nature and focus on movement, light, pattern and colour. Recently she has extended her work to depict the energy and chemical industries of Lambton County, showing their impact upon the environment.
Jane is self-taught in her video production. She has exclusive control over the shooting, editing, and artistic decisions for her video pieces. Jane uses a Canon 5D Mark III camera with L series lenses to take her videos and Adobe Premier Pro and Abobe After Effects for editing.
Jane also has branched out into Digital Photography. She uses her Canon camera and Adobe Photoshop to edit her photos. She also works with sculpture and has in the past been a painter which informs her video work. She has been a practicing and exhibiting artist for 40 years.
