Professor Takashi Hashimoto's speech at SELF-AWARENESS, CREATIVITY, AND LANGUAGE IN ARTIFICIAL AND NATURAL SYSTEMS (2025/3/26, Komaba Campus, University of Tokyo). The title was CREATIVE ASPECTS OF LINGUISTIC COMMUNICATION (Takashi Hashimoto). [2025/3/31]
Ryusei Naka (M1) presented a poster at the 29th Kansai Conference of the Japan Association for Evolutionary Economics (2025/3/22-23, Senriyama Campus, Kansai University). The title was "Elucidation of the Process and Mechanism of Isolation with Loneliness - Focusing on the Mind Seeking Connection and Freedom" (Ryusei Naka, Takashi Hashimoto). Professor Hashimoto also commented on a planned session entitled "Creative Evolution of the Welfare State and Evolutionary Capacity." [31 Mar 2025].
A degree conferment ceremony was held on 2025/03/21, where four students successfully obtained their "Master of Knowledge Science" degrees. In the evening, a farewell party was held at the Tsurunoya in Tsurugi, where three master's students (one from the Shirahada Laboratory) left JAIST. [2025/3/31]

The 11th Knowledge Co-Creation Forum will be held in Kanazawa, 2025/3/20 (Thu), JAIST Kanazawa Ekimae Office. The deadline for presentation applications is 2025/2/17.
The invited lecture and discussion will be delivered by Professor Toru Hirata, a collaborator who was mentored by the late Professor Ikujiro Nonaka—one of the founders of knowledge science—who passed away on January 25. Professor Hirata will reflect on Professor Nonaka's achievements and discuss the future development of knowledge science. [2025/1/23]

Mr Shinto Izaki, a fourth-year student of the Information Science Major, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Yamato University, came to the Hashimoto Lab as an intern from 28 Oct - 28 Nov. He proposed the concept of 'Awe Knowing' and conducted a relative survey.[2024/11/28]

Huang Wenlian (D1) presented a poster at the 25th Conference of the Japanese Cognitive Linguistics Association (2024/9/7-8, Kobe University & online). Ms Mizuki Yamauchi, a fourth-year student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tokyo College, National Institute of Technology, came to the Hashimoto Lab from 26 Aug to 6 Sep as an internship student. She researched simulation of language evolution, surveyed original papers, made follow-up examinations and original research, and presented the results on 6 Sep. [2024/9/10]
Assistant Professor Shun Kurokawa has received the Japanese Ethology Society Award for his 'Theoretical study on the comparison between the evolution of harassing behavior and the evolution of altruistic behavior'! The award ceremony and speech will be held at the 43rd Congress from 2 - 4 November 2024 at the Tokyo West Campus of Teikyo University of Science in Uenohara, Yamanashi Prefecture. [31 Aug 2024]

Kazuki Matsui (D3, Tokyo Satellite) has been selected as a receiver of The Foundation of the Global Life Learning Center's PhD Support Programme for 2023. His research topic is "Construction of a social simulation model for EBPM focusing on the cognitive mechanisms of relationships with others." Congratulations![2024/07/01]
