In 2018, the Philadelphia International Airport renovated their restrooms across four different terminals. At each of these sites was a Percent for Art commission. These renovations enhance the Airport’s ability to efficiently connect travelers to their destinations, provide world-class amenities, and enrich the public’s airport experience through artwork. The airport welcomes more than 30 million annual passengers.

Paul Santoleri’s Flight Pattern begins with the image of a feather. As the lines increase and radiate out from the center, lines reference actual flight patterns as well as linear depictions of cities. Mr. Santoleri states that each line "represents a breath,” drawing air in, then letting it out, still and moving at once.”

I served as the Percent for Art Project Manager on this project.
