Welcome to Centre College!

This website will provide you with the knowledge and resources on which technologies and software programs are supported at Centre. Topics include: how to get in touch with ITS, how to connect your device to the network, and how to change your password.

ITS Helpdesk

If you have questions, or are experiencing problems with your office, lab, or classroom computer, please contact the ITS Helpdesk (859-238-5575; helpdesk@centre.edu). The Helpdesk can also assist you with connecting mobile devices to the wireless network and accessing college licensed software.  Check out our knowledgebase for documentation and instructions on the supported software and systems at Centre.

Office Computer

A computer setup (laptop, keyboard, and mouse) will be provided for you. As new employees are hired, ITS will reach out to the individual faculty member or department supervisor to discuss what’s available.  For questions, please contact the ITS helpdesk.

Connect to the Centre Network

In order to connect to the wireless network, every Centre employee must enter their username and password before being given access to our protected local area network.  Authorized Centre users should not use the Centre Public WIFI, as access to campus resources is extremely limited.  We recommend all users register their mobile devices and computers with Eduroam as their primary WIFI network.

If you are unable to access key services, check your network and make sure you are on the eduroam network.

CentreNet

CentreNet is the campus portal that provides you the best links to College systems, event information, registration, grades and much more! CentreNet and other Centre supported systems use QuickLaunch Single sign-on (SSO) to authenticate.  QuickLaunch Single sign-on is a session and user authentication service that permits a user to use one set of login credentials. To view all of the features in CentreNet, login with your Centre username and password in the top-right corner.

Centre Password

At Centre, you will be required to change your password every 180 days.  You will not be allowed to use a previous password (within the last year) and your new password will require a combination of special characters, letters and numbers.  Your Centre College password must only be used for Centre College.  Using this password elsewhere puts our system at risk if the password is compromised on another system.  Access to systems and applications is primarily done through the QuickLaunch Single Sign On (SSO) system.

ITS also applies Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for specific applications and roles.  Users can validate their access using either security questions, a code set to a secondary email or via a text message.

Campus Phones

Centre College ITS has been upgrading the phone system. Find links to the device training guides for the phone models used on campus.

Microsoft OneDrive
Centre provides you with 5TB of storage space in OneDrive.  OneDrive can be accessed from any computer, on or off campus, that has an internet connection.  ITS recommends that you use the cloud-based storage of OneDrive as your primary storage and document sharing option.  You can access OneDrive files by clicking the Office 365 button located on the CentreNet launchpad.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the supported software program for virtual meetings and collaboration.  Microsoft Teams is part of Office365.  Microsoft Teams has a desktop and online version and it allows you to connect with your colleagues virtually, while offering additional features such as recording, sharing a screen, chatting, and collaborating on a document.

For non-academic spaces, sites, and collaboration, Centre uses Moodle Spaces.

Qualtrics

Qualtrics is the campus-wide survey platform which allows campus programs, departments, and individuals to create, distribute and analyze survey results.  Whether you want to collect data for research, design a test/quiz, or for experimental design with your students, Qualtrics will work for you.
