Notable first: At Aeternitas, I brought my Lockhart costume and gave out signed photos. He is so much fun, and the costume so comfortable, that I have brought Lockhart to every single convention since - he is the only character of mine to appear at every con listed here.

This was really the first time I'd given any sort of academic presentations about Harry Potter!
Game Shows: I led a team of "Hogwarts Professors" to victory in Family Feud, where we each won a copy of The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook.
Featuring Irvin as McGonagall, Lis as Boggart!Snape, Clay as Lupin, Margaret as Umbridge, and Pam as Charity Burbage.
Song Parody: I wrote a parody of Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night" all about Aeternitas - Last Weekend's Con
Hindsight: Though not technically my first convention, it was my first one on this scale, where it was immersive and several days long and had a few hundred people. When it happened, it was without a doubt the best weekend of my life - just pure joy from beginning to end. I couldn't have known what a huge part of my life these conventions would become, but thank goodness I went up to Laconia, NH that weekend!
