For my research project, I will explore the role of peer review as a form of scholarly communication (vs as a quality filter). I am interested in the range of processes that get categorized as peer review, the rhetoric distinctions between peer review and the comments from an engaged editor or critic, how peer reviewers are matched with papers and projects, and the social community that accompanies / informs peer review. I will focus my research to peer review in the humanities, and I expect I'll need to narrow that focus to a particular field within the humanities.
Sounds good!
