Hotel Rules

  • Horseplay, hazing, bullying, or misbehavior of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • No alcohol or drugs permitted. Zero tolerance.

  • Do not, for any reason, open the hotel windows.

  • There is NO co-ed room visitation AT ANY TIME. Coaches, friends, and older siblings are not permitted in the hotel. Parents and sailors only.

  • Rooms are not to be rearranged. All furniture must stay in the rooms.

  • Competitors must remain in the hotel AND in their own rooms after curfew and check-in. Curfew: 10:30PM. Lights out: 11:00PM.

  • No burning of anything is allowed: cigarettes, vaping paraphernalia, candles, incense, etc.

  • Hang all wet items in the bathroom. No wet clothes are to be hung on the furniture, beds, or chairs and no ropes are to be strung up in the hotel.

  • Only competitors may sleep in the rooms: naps and nights included.

Trash: Take care when eating and drinking in the rooms. Dispose of trash appropriately. The garbage cans in your room will be emptied daily. Please stack pizza boxes next to the can. Recycling containers for plastic and cans are in the hallways.

Pizza Orders: All pizza orders should be placed at least a half hour before curfew (before 10:00pm Sun-Weds.) There are no refrigerators in the rooms so only order what you can eat.

Lost keys: Chaperones who know a competitor can obtain a master key to open a competitor’s room. If not known, the competitor’s Parent of the Day or Team Liaison will have to come to the hotel to secure a replacement key for their sailor. Competitors who need a replacement key must pay the hotel charge for key replacement.

Pool: Competitors are welcome to use the pool at the Islander Inn. Pool Rules and regulations are posted and should be enforced. Competitors are NOT permitted at Splash at the Grand Islander Hotel.


These rules are included in the Competitor’s Rules and Regulations which govern the Regatta and shall be enforced by the Regatta Chairpersons, Protest Committee, or both.
