This is Your School, Too

In this session, participants (program leadership, staff, and instructors) will identify actions they can take to be allies to LGBTQIA+ people (and other people traditionally marginalized by our institutions).  Participants will be able to set up inclusive, welcoming spaces at their program sites and foster relationships of co-learning and mutual understanding with LGBTQIA+ newcomers. They will roleplay how to gracefully repair miscommunications around gender and sexuality, and prepare ways  to speak up when they witness incidents of misgendering and other microaggressions.
