Let's keep active!

Welcome to our new online activity centre!

Hertford and Ware School Sports Partnership want to help you to be active whilst the coronavirus outbreak is keeping us all at home. We hope that adding any of these activities into your new daily routine will also add some extra fun!

Olympic Day - 23rd June

This week we have an Olympic Theme running through our challenges. Check out Get Set and look at the home learning section - Travel to Tokyo. There is a special Olympic day, on Tuesday 23rd June which would be a great time to try working out with real Olympians, and you can download our Olympic Day certificate.

Don’t forget to also visit National Schools Sports Week this week.

And remember, whatever activity you do, have fun.

The Olympic Flag Target

Did you know that the flag and more importantly, the rings, represent the five inhabited continents of the world, united by Olympism? The six colours are those that appear on all the national flags of the world at the present time.

Players: 1 or more

Equipment: Chalk or washable paint, Something to throw (balls, bean bags, socks etc.)

Paint or chalk your own 5 target rings onto a wall. Find something to throw at your targets, balls, bean bags, rolled up socks or you could get messy and see how good your aim is with wet and foamy sponges or water balloon bombs!

If you don’t have a suitable wall, you could use the floor. Again use chalk to draw your 5 targets. If you don’t have chalk, use string to make your circles or even go on a hunt around your garden and find some stones or twigs.

1. The first person in line has a plunger and cup filled with water from the bucket in front of them. He/ she takes the cup and pours the water in the plunger which is upside down.

2. He/ she then runs to another container and dumps the water into it.

3. Then he/ she runs back and hands the plunger to the next person. Next person does exactly the same thing.

4. The team with the most water in their end container after everyone has had their go is the winner

5. If you haven’t got enough people for 2 teams, you could time your individual run until you have carried all the water from one bucket to another. Then try to beat it!
