The kits are intended for rapid detection of DOA in human urine. They are considered "screening tests" and only provide qualitative preliminary results (results cannot be used for legal purposes). Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any drug of abuse test result, particularly when preliminary positive results are obtained.
Note : While there are two types of DOA devices being offered, users may only make an indent request for 4-panel drug test strip. Requests for the 10-panel drug test strip will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Quick Reference Guide:
Testing Procedure
1. All HQE staff assigned as (or who wish to become) operators of DOA Test kit must;
Read the SOP
Complete online training session
Successfully complete the theory assessment
2. Training and competency assessment must be performed prior to assessing the device and yearly thereafter for recertification.
3. Operators will need to pass the theory test with a score of 100%.
Individuals who have not completed training and do not hold a valid competency are not authorized to use this device.
Urine Drug Test (4 in 1) (default test option)
Urine Drug Test (10 in 1) (only when indicated)
Internal procedural controls are included in the test. A colored band appearing in the control region (C) is considered an internal positive procedural control, confirming sufficient specimen volume and correct procedural technique. If the control line fails to appear, the test is considered invalid and results should not be reported. If this occurs, the test should be repeated with a new kit. If the problem persists, discontinue using the kit immediately and contact our POCT Support Staff.
External quality control using Certified Reference Materials as positive controls are performed at the laboratory before each new batch of strips is put into routine use every 3 month. Upon observing the expected results, the kit is ready to be supplied to POC facilities and is ready for use.
