Haematology services are divided into routine and specialised tests
Routine: Located in the Integrated Laboratory and Chemical Pathology unit, 1st floor, Twin Tower building. Ext 8241.

Routine tests that are offered as 24 hours service are
FBC and reticulocyte count.
PT/APTT.
Fibrinogen.
D-dimer.
Glucose-6- phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) fluorescent spot test (For urgent requests after office hours, please send to Integrated Laboratory).
Specialised tests that are offered during office hours are
BCR-ABL quantitative assay (Mon-Tue).
Bone marrow aspirate.
CD4 and CD8 enumeration (Mon-Wed).
Erythrocytes sedimentation rate.
Factor VIII and IX assay.
Hb analysis.
Immature platelet fraction (IPF).
Immunophenotyping analysis.
Inhibitor assay.
Lupus anticoagulant assay.
Mixing test.
Peripheral blood film.
Urine hemosiderin.
Von Willebrand factor antigen and activity.
Platelet aggregation test.
Outsourced samples must be received by the Haematology Laboratory during official working hours, no later than 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Please note that courier services may be disrupted during weekends and public holidays. For specific requirements and arrangements, kindly refer to the respective referral test page.
Specialised tests requested outside of office hours must be discussed with the Pathologist in charge/on-call before proceeding.
