Quality Assurance Program
Internal Quality Control (IQC)
Internal Quality Control Solutions are used to check the performance of the CareSens Dual meter and the corresponding test strips.
IQC Frequency:
Proficiency Testing (PT) / External Quality Assurance (EQA)
PT/EQA involves running a sample with known but undisclosed concentration and the results are compared with those of peers or to those of a reference laboratory. It allows you to compare the performance of your site thus ensuring reliability of results reported.
Proficiency testing for POC glucose testing is performed quarterly. In involves comparing results for PT materials of each individual CareSens Dual meter to a peer group mean value. The peer group is consisted of CareSens Dual meters used in selected MOH facilities across the nation as part of a national contract for glucose strips since 2021.
