Our vision is to prepare every child for academic and career success by ensuring competency in reading and writing.
The mission of Hoover Reading Intervention is to provide a safety net of research-based literacy interventions in English and in Spanish to students who are struggling with literacy in general education at Hoover Community School.
Statistics reveal that a sizable achievement gap separates English learners (ELs) and students living in poverty from their mainstream peers. However, research and standardized tests demonstrate that in the context of holistic support, including effective teaching, bilingual education, and timely research-based intervention, ELs and students living in poverty can conquer their initial disadvantage and achieve at levels equal to or better than their peers.
