Average rate of growth for students in Hoover reading intervention in 2018-19 was .2, meaning that students accelerated at twice the normal rate, which is necessary if they are going to catch up.
Some students had a rate of .5 or .8, which means they were learning almost 5-8 times as fast as their peers.
So even though this was a hard year, and some students made little progress for various reasons; on average, our students accelerated with the support of intervention.
