May 2020 Council Corner
Our country and our world has been turned on its ears over the last two months. I never really thought that we would ever experience something like the COVID-19 crisis in my lifetime. I hope this letter finds everybody happy and especially healthy with their faith still strong.
At this time, our church remains closed for the near future. I am thinking this will last at least through the end of May. Our council follows the guidelines put forth by the Northeast Minnesota Synod under the leadership of Bishop Thomas Aitken. We will keep you updated as soon as possible when we find out when Hope and other area churches can host services again. In the meantime, feel free to search the Internet and social media. Many of the larger churches in our state are streaming live services with just a pastor and an otherwise empty church.
I am pleased to say that the level of giving has been maintained during our shutdown. Wow!!! It is truly amazing how people pull together in times of crisis on the Iron Range. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the contributions members have made. Please keep it up.
Our venture through this COVID-19 journey will take us through many up’s and down’s. Stress levels will, no doubt, get strained as we are forced to live in a way that is unknown to many of us. The Lord will guide us through this process and will give us the strength, faith, and wisdom to overcome any obstacles that may confront us. In the end, HLC will make it through this ordeal.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to the church if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
May God grant you peace until we meet again next month…….
In God’s Name,
Lance Kupka
