TOURS/TRIPS & FUNDRAISING
The Red Devil band may have the opportunity to travel within and outside of Illinois as part of a performance/educational tour. These tours will often involve large public performances for top notch adjudicators or audiences. The benefits of a tour are many and result from rigorous preparation. The following tours have been taken in the last several years:
UPCOMING 2025-2026 - New York, NY - Veteran's Day Parade
2023-2024 -- London New Year's Parade
2019-2020 -- Rome New Year's Day parade and Frascati Buskers Performance
2017 -- New York, NY -- Veteran's Day Parade
The Red Devil Marching Band toured Washington D.C. from 11/11 - 11/14 and honored those who fought for our country with their talents as performers.
Performance Highlights
Performing at the Marine Corps Memorial (Iwo Jima)
Rehearsing and Performing for the "Parade of Heroes" with five other schools under the direction of CSM Mitch Spray, former Command Sergeant Major and Drum Major of the United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own." in front of the Lincoln Memorial and the WWII Memorial in front of an audience of veterans. Luke Zeman '21 was asked to perform taps at the ceremony and performed very well in a high pressure performance setting. All of these things happened in the rain and the students remained at attention, did not complain, and gained an experience that will undoubtedly give them joy and honor when they reflect on their gifts given to our veterans.
