The Hinsdale Central High School Band Program provides students with a comprehensive musical education through performance, individual growth, and ensemble collaboration. Students develop technical skill, musicianship, and a lifelong appreciation for music while performing at concerts, football games, festivals, and community events throughout the year.
For students seeking an additional challenge, our Honors Band track offers motivated musicians the opportunity to deepen their musical experience through private instruction, solo and ensemble performance opportunities, and creative projects.
Qualitifications and Process
To qualify for Honors Band, students earn points throughout the semester by participating in activities across three categories: Individual Instruction, Solo and Ensemble Performance, and Music Project. Students may choose any combination of activities that best fits their interests and schedule, working toward a minimum of 15 points per semester. At the end of the semester, point totals are reviewed, and students who have met the requirement are placed into the Honors section for the completed semester.
This form must be completed by Friday, September 11, 2026 for consideration.
If you have other activities or situations you think should qualify for points, please speak with a director to see if they can be approved for Honors credit.
