Dynamic Virus Inactivation System - Indirect (Covered) line of sight
Refers to filtration and irradiation of localised but fairly large area, internal space air, using small volume autonomous (no ducts) units, either ceiling suspended but mostly wall suspended (2.5 metres average height) , – whether in separate rooms, or groups of units arranged in open plan area according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Why? The virus is airborne by attachment.
Dynamic, Mid Lever, Recirculating Filtration will:
a. Remove a large part of the airborne molecules (especially the larger size, heavy ones) at Low level (0.20 to 1.5m), within the surrounding local area, by retaining them on the filters of the system.
b. Inactivate the viruses by altering their RNA so that they are no longer able to multiply.
How? The air is drawn in through grills placed on one or both sides of the equipment and after treatment extracted either on the other side of the equipment or from grilles placed along the length of the unit
The filtering unit is composed of a series of filters, one of which is a HEPA filter able to stop molecules down to a 1 micron, and a set of UVGI ( = Ultra Violet Germicidal Irradiation ) lamps, which inactivate the viruses on any molecules that were not stopped by the filters.
Action? Install Local, mid level, ductless unit/units, according to area coverage recommended by manufacturer.
Advantages:
· Able to treat Mid to low level areas providing better treatment of the air that the customer or the personnel is moving or working in.
· Small installation costs.
· Small maintenance cost.
· Small obstruct / stop business flow for installation
· Does not require high level ceilings.
· Airflow unobstructed by furniture.
· Does not take Floor space.
Disadvantages:
· Unable to draw in very low level, heavy droplets for treatment.
· Needs more than one unit to cover all spaces and angles.
· Can create uncomfortable air drafts but very small.
· Visually obstructive but at an acceptable level.
