Keep Humidity High

Why? The virus is airborne carried by droplets / particles.

Droplets / particles infested with viruses are heavy and will land within a short distance from the person (hence the 2-meter distance).

A dry environment will remove the moisture from the droplets resulting in

a. Longer travel distance of the virus.

b. Viral molecules light enough to be carried by air currents.

c. Breathing dry air could cause desiccation of the nasal mucosa, which would in turn render the host more susceptible to respiratory virus infections.

How? Use of air-conditioning, especially in dynamic cooling systems, removes water from air by condensing its molecules on the cold coils and discharging them in the form of water into the drainage pipes. Heavy use of air-conditioning reduces the air humidity.

Action? Increase cooling temperature. Keep it at 27 0C and above.

Use Water cooled systems instead of Gaseous (i.e. Freon).

Avoid / reduce the use of Air-conditioning when / where possible.
