For the new members, the Island Challenge Cup is a 2 day inter-zone tournament that is a “Solheim Cup” format with foursomes and four balls on day 1 and singles matches on day 2. It’s a great chance to hone your skills while enjoying the team atmosphere.
This year’s Island Challenge will be held at Crown Isle Resort the weekend of August 29-30. Saturday tee times will be around 1:00 p.m. and Sunday tee times around 9:00 a.m. Green fees will be at a rate of $95, and carts are $22.50 per seat. Each HE player will be subsidized $100.
Lori has researched accommodation. All-in rates are $331/night at Crown Isle, and $184/night at Comox Valley Inn. There are other options less and more expensive in the area.
Four rooms at Comox Valley Inn for BOTH Friday and Saturday night at the $184/night rate have been reserved. $92 each player for each night in a hotel. The Comox Valley Inn is 4.5 km from Crown Isle. Note - the 4 rooms have now been taken.
This is a really fun weekend, filled with great golf, team dinner out and the opportunity to meet like minded women golfers from the North end of the Island who equally enjoy a memorable weekend and sharing a glass with some stories and laughs. Any questions - contact Lori Lumley
