Options (IMPORTANT)

This section will be useful for all players, new or old. Please keep in mind all options outside of graphics options will be saved on your account. This is very convenient in case you play on multiple machines. If you play on multiple accounts on one computer, they will need to be configured individually. Vallun made a video covering a lot of the options as well, should you prefer to use that as a more visual reference.

General Options

  • Profanity filter - Up to your discretion

  • In-Game Clock - I’m used to using Local Time, but quite a few wiki/other online resources will use server time. Tyrian time is primarily used to tell when day/night will arrive and you can simply type /time to find that out.

  • Content Guide - I recommend selecting “Hide Events and Personal Story” regardless of what kind of player you are. The story and nearby events will still appear in the top right of your User Interface anyway, but the arrow notification will focus on showing you nearby hearts/events/points of interest which is far more useful.

  • Ignore Previously Completed Objectives - This is a personal preference and will be more relevant to expansion/Living World content.

  • AoE Loot on Interact - This a massive boost in quality of life. You should have it on.

  • Autoloot - Locked behind masteries (a system I’ll explain later). There are certain times when you’ll actually want it off, but I won’t get into that.

  • Show all names - I highly recommend turning most of these on except for Show All Player Names, which is a personal preference. It’s much easier to locate NPCs, tell what enemies are at a glance, and find objects around the world with these options enabled. Nameplate clutter can get excessive during world events so that’s why you might want Player names off.

  • Show Skill Recharge - A must. Recharge is the same thing as a cooldown in other games (the amount of time you must wait before you’re able to use a skill again)

  • Show target health percent - Also highly recommended so you can tell when a boss will change phases, etc

  • Thick Health Bars/Always show health bars - I recommend turning both of these on, especially if you’re playing a healing/support role.
