Alacrity Renegade

Alacrity Renegade is brought on most raid encounters and also in fractals when paired with Quickness Firebrand.

You are looking for Diviner’s gear for the most part, with the guide recommending an Assassin’s backpack. Please follow the Tanetris guide on trinkets (accessories/back item), ascended armor, and weapons because they really cover every way to obtain them. I will cover exotic armor. While obtaining this armor, feel free to use berserker’s gear. Can be bought on TP, Crafted, CoE, CoF, Arah, or karma. Scholar runes are expensive so temporarily use eagle if you need crit chance or ogre if you're worried about being overcapped on crit chance. Depending on what boons you're expected to provide and the amount of boon duration you have, you may opt for runes of the pack as well (if you're the only alac ren and you don't have a chrono/herald extending the duration of your boons). Keep in mind that if you're running fractals, your Agony Resistance provides you with a bonus to concentration/boon duration if you're using a mist mobility potion.

For weapons, they would need to be crafted using recipes obtainable only in Living World Season 4, Episode 6. This involves completing a certain amount of the story so major spoilers if you're skipping ahead. Icebrood Saga also has the new Illuminated Boreal weapons (tier 3) that have diviner's stats. Although this is also skipping ahead, you can use a TP to friend or portal to the Eye of the North and work on crafting these without doing the story. This also allows you to easily obtain a stat-selectable amulet. Alternatively, they are available on the TP but they're quite pricey for exotics and for the price, you might as well craft the ascended weapons. If you're fortunate enough to play during Halloween (any stat), Festival of the Four Winds (Diviner's), or Lunar New Year (Diviner's), you can complete achievements for, or in the case of the Festival of the Four Winds, purchase exotic weapons. For exotic stat-selectable staves, swords, pistols, rifles, and greatswords, look into these achievements/purchase the Iron Legion variant (example) on the Trading Post.

For armor, you can complete a set of achievements during Living World Season 4, Episode 6, which Tanetris details here. Alternatively, if you’re not at that point in the story, stat selectable gear from pvp/wvw reward tracks (Crystal Desert/Legacy/Glorious/Triumphant) is an option. If you are playing during Halloween, this set of achievements will grant you one set of stat-selectable armor. You also have access to purchase the crafting recipes for this armor during Halloween (and only during this time), which are an amazingly efficient way to craft exotic armor of any stat. Or my personal favorite - Bladed Armor from Heart of Thorns. Since Bladed Armor is so easy to get, it’s the go-to for setting up builds with stats that are usually expensive to craft or difficult to obtain. Getting it also avoids most story spoilers for new players and if you have a revenant, you own Heart of Thorns so everyone has access to this content! You get a head piece from the story in the fourth chapter of HoT’s story, so please keep that in mind! Also, you may purchase an Ice Golem's Maw Box from the trading post for a cheap stat-selectable helmet.

  1. You must complete the first Heart of Thorns mission if you’re a new player. This unlocks the mastery track so you can train basic gliding. I would recommend that you get enough XP to get the second tier of gliding, which is updraft use. This will make participating in the Verdant Brink Night meta event much easier.

  2. Use /wiki et from in-game to open up the event timer to see when this event is running. Use the in-game LFG tool (Y by default and 2nd tab) to see if there are squads running it when active. The goal is to reach tier 4 as a map and then your personal participation must be at least 100% to receive a guaranteed Bladed Armor Box. To get your participation up, capture a camp, bring Pact Supplies to it, escort Pact soldiers carrying supplies, and defend the camp when it gets attacked. After the second wave of attacks, pact helicopters appear and if you have the updraft mastery, you can head up to the canopy where there are five sets of bosses. These are engaging encounters so I recommend killing each one, as it gets you an achievement and the bosses have chests that may contain bladed armor or even ascended gear!

  3. While you’re running around, try to open up airship cargo, as those have a chance of containing bladed gloves as well. Once the event is at maximum security (tier 4) and you’re set with 100%+ participation, stay on the map until the timer is complete. This is important, as you won’t get the full rewards until the event is fully over.

  4. At that point, you receive a bladed armor box and bam, easy stat-selectable exotic armor! Get the chest piece first, as you can actually purchase other pieces for airship parts from vendors with the Itzel Mastery.
