Understanding workplace rights and responsibilities made me realize how important it is to know both what I am entitled to as a worker and what is expected of me. Many people focus only on their rights—like fair wages, safe working conditions, and protection from discrimination—but responsibilities are just as crucial. As an employee, I must follow workplace policies, respect my colleagues, and contribute to a positive work environment. Learning about this balance helped me see that a well-functioning workplace isn’t just about individual success but about teamwork and mutual respect.  As I prepare for work immersion, I see how these principles apply to real-life situations.

Employers are responsible for providing a safe and fair workplace, but employees must also cooperate by following safety guidelines and performing their duties responsibly. This reminds me that a good work ethic isn’t just about doing tasks efficiently—it’s about accountability and professionalism. It also made me think about the importance of speaking up when rights are violated. Many workers remain silent out of fear, but understanding labor laws and workplace policies can empower people to demand fair treatment. This reflection made me realize that when I enter the workforce, I should be aware of both my rights and my responsibilities. It’s easy to assume that as long as we do our jobs, everything will be fine, but true workplace harmony requires effort from both employers and employees.

Moving forward, I want to be more mindful of how I conduct myself at work while also ensuring that I am treated fairly. A good workplace isn’t just built by policies—it’s built by people who respect and uphold those policies together.
